We have been recenrtly following a post on the .ae domaining community forum domaining.ae and have found the following intresting post:
Alot of time and resources have been put to research the www in search for any sales history of .ae domain names. Surprisingly, all the resources that have been found include the same domains! It is clear that only a few .ae sales have been closed, or atleast this is what is reported to the public. The actual number is definitely different.
Anyway, here is the list of the domain name sales that we have found:TV.ae > Sold for US$ 8000
Shops.ae > Sold for US$ 1340
Parking.ae > Sealed at US$ 650
Estates.ae > Went for US$ 500
The prices at which these where sold are not a surprise either. Considering the fact that most of these have been sold before the launch of the aeDA regulatory body, that is the process of completing a domain transfer after a sale was a big deal in terms of manual procedure and paper work at Etisalat/uaenic (the former only registrar)
Another interesting fact that caught my attention is that most of these domains are not developed and only 1 has a website running.
In my opinion, the .ae domain sale field still requires some development, more knowledge about the simplified transfer procedure of aeDA and ofcourse, it requires time…
